Hello once again, i'm back frm band camp on wed and had no inspiration to blog till now so here's it u loyal fans.. haha. But i wanna start this entry with a song that has been on my head for the past few days... enjoy (i know its kinda long) dedicated to of course xinling and the family (corne, kris and meilan) haha All I ASK OF YOU (Sarah Brightman & Cliff Richards) From Phantom of The Opera No more talk of darkness Say you love me every weakening moment Let me be your shelter All I want is freedom Then say you'll share with me one love, Say you'll share with me one love Well i guess i will talk abt the nights first. Night 1: 12am, Watching japanese band competitions on the band room com, had to switch to very soft mode cos the sec 4s were sleeping in the bandroom. Before that they were out at the nearby 24hr BAK CHOR MEE store cos they feel very thrilled to go out together during band camp.. haha, i stayed cos i didn't feel like eating. 2am, most of the sec 4s were already sleeping, the sec 3s and sec 2s were already into dreamland. continued watching jap band comp and ocasionally listening to some recordings (fantasy variations was one). Yunus and jeremy yeap were listening too. I noticed that many of the clarinetists in the video were using different embosures, but i had heard frm someone before that japanese bands dun really care abt that as long as they have a desired tone. Interesting, heard some rather good Eb sounds. 3am, was kinda stiff and bored after sitting at the same spot for like so many hours. Jeremy suggested a walk ard the sch, so myself, jeremy and yunus walked thru the once spooky brother's quarters and to the front gate, we then decided to make a right turn down st. patrick's road. talk talk talk. We reached the main road and decided to sit at the bus stop for a while. As we sat that, we observed a cat crossing the same road abt 5 times. haha, how entertaining. Den abt half and hr passed so we walked back to sch. When we were crossing the road, a kind taxi driver stopped in front of us and asked if we needed a lift to anywhere. haha. so nice of him, anyway we said no and thanked him. i think he must have thought that we wanted to go home and there was no bus. So we went back to sch and i decided to go to sleep. Yunus carried on watching the videos. The bandroom was super cold and there was snoring all ard the room. Surround sound sia. Anyway, i had no problem entering into a great slumber. Kinda suffered the effects of an almost sleepless night. 2nd night: Had pasta made by mr glosz. Nice, but could be better as it was cooked in the morning. to think of it, mr glosz really makes good food, he can be a chef if he wants a change in profession. Anyway, after we had supper, the sec 3s and 2s again went to sleep very quickly. This time, i was at the computer again watching the andrew loyld webber musical selections. some kinda concert featuring his works. He looks wierd.. haha. The songs from phantom of the opera were so nice. The singer was kinda wierd, no need for details, some a little obscene. The guy's voice was very nice, with lots of emotions. Wish i could sing like that. haha. Anyway, i soon advanced towards my thick sleeping bag and went into deep sleep altough i was woken a few times by the temperature. Band camp had given the section leaders a lot of time to work on the details in the syf pieces. The band can be more consistent in its playing. Keep up the work guys! It seems like its a Eb clarinetist thing, both xinling and myself have been asked my mr glosz to transpose parts into ours. For xinling its the Waltzer in Merry Widow and for me its a whole lot of running notes. Picture this, going up and down a set of running notes that have 5 sharps. Do this and you'll understand what i'm going thru. Haha, i hope this makes xinling feel a little better that she has an easier job. Yup, u can do it! Haven't been talking to xinling often since my phone was lost. Hope i can have a long chat with her soon.. That's all, congrats on ure reaching to this line! u had just survived the longest blog entry that i had ever written. Kenneth blogged at 11:50 PM. |
