Not doing well for prelims.. Decided no jc for me anyway.. :)

You Are 20 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Can't seem to be able to sleep.. Came across this at jeremy yeap's blog..

You are Donatello!
You are Donatello...You are highly intelligent and
industrious, and considered the
"brains" of the operation. You're a
serious nerd, but you're still cool!

Which Ninja Turtle Are You?

Monday, in the past, this day would be dreaded as it would be the breaker of the weekend break. But somehow, i was looking forward to today. I guess its due to realising the importance of lessons once the pressure is on and u may need to go to sch to clarify stuff.

Started with english, bio and ss where we went thru the papers to see how we could improve. I was expecting the SEQ for ss to be returned but to no avail. CME was taken over by english again and we did some summary skills worksheet, learnt many new terms. Chem teacher didn't come.

E maths was last and the teacher insisted the trainee finishes going thru the corrections for paper 1 before handing out paper 2. So we waited patiently and did our corrections. Somehow, people were saying how badly they would do in Paper 2 due to it being difficult. However, me and ivan disagreed and were worried that it would the cause for our downfall. She gave out the papers starting with the last person in class (register no.). So ivan got back his paper first. Not too bad... Den nicholas tan, quite good... This time i was getting worried.. would i be able to secure my a1? Walked to her, wishing for some sign frm my teacher whether i did well or not, no sign at all, just the same straight face.

Then, she showed us the comparison of our mock paper to our prelim paper. Many improved despite the minority who still did badly.

Don, u shld give a chance for people to get higher than u... haha.. just kidding. Don here is confirmed going for 1st three months judging frfm the results he has been getting. U bloody mugger. Haha

Sunday's the day.

Woke up kinda late this morning and got a message frm ivan and nicholas to go out and study. Well, since i can't really study at home unless there's an absolute need to, went to macs again to study. As usual, nicholas was doing his maths... I focused more on chemistry as i had to use the combined science in my L1R5 shld the need arise. Doing and doing and doing my tys, the other two switched subjects halfway while i stayed put.

Nicholas, probably daydreaming and gazing ard, caught sight of don studying with a girl in pink. So, being the busybodies that we were, i went to see who it was.. hmm, not anyone i noe, we were still unoticed. Getting back, study study study, after close to three hours, we left for parkway.

The arcade seemed like a good idea and we were soon playing air hockey, jurassic park and time crisis. stayed there for one hr i suppose. Den we left for home.

There's the apprentice at 10 so i guess i'll head for the shower and den continue with my mole concept. See ya!

well.. i'm having mixed emotions now..

today being the first day after the prelims, there is much anticipation amongst the students who turned up for school. But if u ask me, its not a good day because thursday is the day we have the least subjects which means less papers being returned to us.

So the first period was PE and we had our share of fun by running around the courtyard like headless chickens playing a revised version of captains ball. Some took the game far too seriously and were kinda sore after they lost. Haha, that's kinda ok unlike ppl like me who just can't be bothered who wins.. haha..

E maths followed and our Paper 1 was returned to us. As usual, the teacher found it hard to go thru the anwswers as my class couldn't be bothered abt the solutions. Anyway, when my teacher was giving out the paper in random order, i went up to her as i was one of the last yet to be called. She picked my paper from the stack and passed it to me. As soon as i took it frm her, i folded it. Hmm.. At that time, i didn't mind not knowing exactly how much i got. Got back to my seat where my other classmates were already comparing their results. After finding out how much those ard me got, i flipped open my test paper. Reached for the calculator and check the percentage i got (paper 1 is upon 80). Phew.. i made it.. For those wondering how much i got, ASK ME. haha..

RECESS

Physics was next. Anyway, i'm taking combined chem and physics. My physics teacher gve out the multiple choice paper and the oatas sheet. Ok.. this time i wasn't keeping my hopes too high as i'm not really fond of science. He took two periods to go thru FOUR mcq questions. Haha, deviated off to explain another way the same concept can be tested in.

Mother Tongue. This time was the full paper we were recieving. Ok lah, the results only which were written on the paper two anwser booklet. Had a shock of my life.. haha

Chemistry. We were returned our practical paper. Did the same thing i did for maths. U know, the folding thing. Ok lah, as i said, science not my favourite.

The day ended just like that, had lunch at kfc and headed home...

One more day to the end of prelims! As expected the prelims is fast over before i realised it, seems like yesterday that i took my english paper..

A maths paper 1 today. Not good for me (not that i ever do well for a maths)

Went for mcbreakfast after the paper with justin, josiah, jonathan and don.

Went josiah's hse for a while, headed for bedok and here i am.

Bio mcq and a maths paper 2 tomorrow.

Better study.. haha..

See ya!

Sunday, September 18, 2005

it seems that i have no affinity with chemistry and a maths.. Haha, nevertheless, i shall not cease to try considering that's its just 2 more months and it'll be all over.

Its sunday today and its also the 15th of the 8th month in the lunar calendar.. sounds familiar? Lantern Festival.. Had steamboat for dinner.

Tomorrow is the combined science paper 3. I know that i would do fairly well for the physics section but i can't say so for chemistry. Chemistry just dosen't arouse any single bit of interest in me. Guess i'm not a chemical person.

Kinda anxious for the prelim results, need to see how much more i have to study or how much i had already studied.. haha, i'm not having my expectation to high as the saying goes, the higher the expectation, the higher the disappointment. I wish the same to all those taking their prelims. Don't be depressed over what has happened, its the past. What's important is that we learn frm our mistakes and not to make them again.

Supposed to go for a SSO performance at botanic gardens with ivan and jeremy today but could not make it due to the dinner. Heard frm ivan some pieces that they played. Some dance from 'Prince Igor' and many others, 8 in all. I wouldn't miss the next public performance by the SSO. I mean, how often to u get the chance to hear the best orchestra in Singapore for free? Haha, that makes me kiasu dosen't it? Well...

Wanted to go buy the marion raven album but i won't have the financial means to considering that there are three people frm my batch (band) who's birthdays are coming.. Quite sad, having their birthdays while the heat is on for the o's.. Haha, i'm sure glad that my birthday falls just slightly after the last paper.. Haha.. Good luck to u guys!

That reminds me, graduation night is on the 23rd of November one day after our last paper. Gotta, get something to wear to the dinner but i guess that will be one of my last worries behind studying.

Its gonna be another late nite for me considering the fact that my biological clock is screwed up and tuned to me sleeping two hours in the afternoon and sleeping at 3 every night. Well three every morning.

Thanks to all those who tagged for tagging, haha.

Howie Day - Collide

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah

But I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find, you and I collide

I'm quiet, you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know
I'm always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find, you and I collide

Don't stop here
I've lost my place
I'm close behind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find, you and I collide

You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide

Food for thought... Do u people ever get this feeling where u are hearing a song that really describes how u are feeling at that exact moment? Kinda cool... I'm sure those out there won't be a stranger to this song...

Happy studying!

Changed a few pictures here and there to keep u visitors coming back for more.. haha

Went out to study with ivan and nicholas... Seems that even we that we want to study, we somehow lack the discipline to study for more than 3 hours.. hope that this would improve considering that we are a week away from the prelims..

For those who were wondering, we considered this for a very long time before coming to a decision in the venue for our study. Parkway macs for those who want to pop by and say hi to us. Haha..

Who's Line is it is on air now! haha.. till tomorrow.. wishing u all the best for those taking n levels..

Well, its a good day to blog. Dun ask me why. HAha

Anyway, its kinda late now and i'm catching up with one of the sec 4 band members. OK. Its Josiah.. haha, nice talking to him after not seeing him much in school. (not that any of us chao but we just dun meet) Listening to a very wide genre of music now. Appreciate different art forms... Yah right, more like just entertaining myself.

Got back paper 2 of pre-prelims maths paper. Quite bad, lower than my expectations but i guess it was satisfactory. Maths is one of the only subjects i reall practiced for. Hope that this wopuld be a little wake-up call for those who hadn't been studying. Its also an alert for me to start on my subjects since my maths is quite stable...

Next week is the one week hols... Really have to plan my time properly to revise for the prelims and eventually, the o's. Discipline is really crucial here. It will either make or break u..... Heed this, people out there.

Naandiri for reading!
