Ok, before Joshua keeps saying that i never update, here's it.

5 days ago was the st pats alumni concert. for a start, thanks to all those who made it, ticket sales couldn't have reached a sell-out without you guys. :)

I always look back at the journey when i'm reviewing stuff. For the concert, haha, i think it was quite frustrating for some and sometimes felt like a liability that the members have to shoulder. Well, put yourself in our shoes, you've graduated from the school and you're bound to have more commitments than before, you take time off your busy schedule to attend practice to the best that you can (of course that applies to some people only. haha. SUPERSTARS..). Its hard to see why you commit so much to the alumni band when sometimes you attend practices with just a handful of people. You'll feel discouraged and that you could have spent your time on something else that's more worthwhile. You'll also have people around you that you know are obviously making excuses not to turn up for practices, you'll try to get them to come but you know that that's all you can do. to try.

Of course, this is quite anticipated by some of us. The alumni band didn't really have a good reputation of committed members anyway. You'll see some alumnus for a few years performing for the concerts and then you'll never see them again. I guess the patriotic-sm wears off after some time. Will the alumni band really start a new journey on becoming a sustained group in pursuit of higher standards? That's a question where only time has the answer to.

We often find it easy to point out the mistakes of others, about their shortcomings, about what they 'could have, should have' done. But i believe in using the same standards to measure yourself before judging others. Wouldn't it make us as bad as or even worse if we fail to notice our own mistakes?

On a lighter note, the concert was definitely a blast. Yeah of course there were points of the concert that we know that we could have done a better job be in in terms of logistics or even by just practicing more to familiarise ourselves with the pieces. Even though the alumni band didn't do any gimmicks or make any additional effort to add entertainment value to the performance, i felt that our enthusiasm and passion was passed on to the audience. I would imagine that it would be quite a challenge as most of the audience may have not been in bands or have consistently attended concerts. I believe in true music.

The feeling of performing together on stage with people that you have worked, sweat, cried with is indescribable. We may not voice what we really feel in our hearts but i really appreciate my batch members for inspiring me to keep it going and that it was all worthwhile. We may have parted ways but there will always be that common-ess that stays with us wherever we go.

With that, merry christmas and a happy new year.

It has been that long since i have blogged huh.

Term tests are over and we're heading into the end of term holidays which would last till the new year. It seems like I'll be pretty free in the mornings and afternoons of december as i'm only working at night. Any takers? ahaha. *ask me out

So. of course with term holidays comes projects that are due once school reopens. quite major ones if u ask me. I can see how the standard gets higher and the scope of projects larger as one progresses from year 1 to year 2.

Been working quite a lot lately. It has been much fun i must say. Proves that my decison to change jobs then was right. Well, work hours get rather unpredictable during peak periods when everyone wants to work.. I believe it'll get better when everyone resumes school in january.

Well, a few days to the st pats alumni concert. Still having a little trouble confirming the attendance of a certain few alumni members. ahaha. i was just reminded of louis' post on 'superstars'. well. we alumni members all have our lives to worry about don't we. not as carefree as what we could be in secondary school.

So till then. ask your friends to go for the concert. haha.

Date: 21st December 2007, Friday
Time: 7.30pm
