Didn't have the mood to blog yesterday altough i took some time to upload the pictures.. So here's for yesterday and today..
As some of you will know, i went to buy my crystal mouthpiece yesterday at accent music. It was all the way at Jurong so the fastest way there was by mrt.. Together with don, nicholas soh and xinling, we took an mrt to the other side of singapore and took a bus subsequently.. The mrt ride was rather short and we thought that we were on time. But it turned out that the bus ride was extreamly long, abt 1hr. As i said before, good things require people to go out of the way for them..
Reached the shop, empty without customers as usual, had a look around. I asked the salesperson abt the mouthpiece when she approached. To m horror, she told me that they only sold crystal mouthpieces for alto saxes.. 2 hours of travelling and not getting anything?! Luckily, she checked with her colleague to find out that they sell such mouthpieces for clarinets too. Bought it, continued looking arounds not realising the time that had passed so quickly.
We left, went to the bus stop, waited for a bus. When it came, we expected someone to flag it but nobody did. We missed the bus so we decided to take a cab. After waiting very long as most of the cabs were changing shifts in the area, we went to orchard, my place, don's place and den xinling's place. Long long trip and i heard that the ending fare was abt 20 bucks.. Sorry to don and xinling. I learnt something, i shouldn't drag people who are supposed to be home along with me to such distant places.. Sorry..
When i reached home, the most natural thing for me to do was to try and break in (season) the mouthpiece. It started out with alot of resistance but slowly got better as i got used to it.
I brought it to school today as ivan wanted to try it. Throughout the day, i was paranoid as i kept thinking that the mouthpiece was abt to break as it is very very fragile. It sounds good on everyone who tried it.. at least i didn't spend so much and go so far for nothing.. Thank God.
