Well.. after such a long time i'm back again! Haha Lots of studying going on lately, lots more to go. It seems that in no time. i will be out of band, doing my prelims and soon doing my o's.. Ironically, i'm feeling quite excited for things to come. We only experience this once every few years (major exams) so we should cherish it and make full use of it to expand our knowledge... To all those taking thier o's this year.. GOOD LUCK!! HAVE FUN!!!! Kenneth blogged at 5:09 PM. Tuesday, July 12, 2005
Good evening ladies and gentlemen.. Today was school as usual, the only different thing abt today was that the scc 4s in my school were having Graduating Class Programme. I kinda like this system where u op in for the subjects where u think u need remediation in. But there were still some adverse effects on it. There is a minority in my class who opted in for today's GCP programme but were disturbing the lesson. The others either made noise together with them or tried to pay attention despite the noise. Hope that future GCP classes would get better. GCP's from tues to fri.. After school and ends latest at 5.40. There's also the night study programme that's coming on where students can study in a condulsive environment in school frm 6.30 to 9.30. Good move by the school. I wonder if it would be a popular one.. Ok.. feeling tired already.. Congrats to xinling for making up her mind on her future after sec sch.. its not easy and its commendable that she made her decision and has no regrets. Haha, all the best! To all those out there who are reading this.. You are really lucky! I wasn't planning to blog at all now but just pushing myself to sleep 15 mins later for this entry... So u guys better appreciate it ah.. Haha. Today. Reporting time was 11am. It was Fiesta in The Gardens! Everyone was tired frm the performance at the home coming dinner which took place last night and lasted till 11. But everyone dragged themselves, early or late to the band room for rehearsal. We set up in the hall, warmed and tuned up and awaited Mr Glosz. When he came, he took us thru the pieces that we were going to play later in the afternoon and corrected some parts too. After that was a real rush. We had an hour for the members to eat lunch, clear the hall, load the bus and truck and put on our blazers. I don't know if it was being done within the hour but it was ok.. St Pats people always need a litlle pushing... The day so far was ok with a few minor screw-ups here and there mostly due to miscommunication. In the bus, or at least the woodwinds bus, everywas was busy using their handphones, either messaging people or listening to stuff. When we were reaching, some were already fast asleep. It was drizzling when we got there so we waited a while at the visitor's centre. The rain stopped and we made our way to the symphony stage. Our instrument cases had to be put on trash bags which were laid on the ground. That was when it started to get real hot and humid. To make it worse, we were wearing our blazers. It was ard 3 and the whole fiesta thing wouldn't start till 5. So we walked ard the area, took pictures, moved our cases to the back of the symphony stage and looked at the VJC band which was apparently not playing yet. haha.. Soon, drizzling started and the skies turned darked. People were already looking for places to run to if it rained. True enough, it started pouring. The bands that were there were told to stay in the sheltered symphony stage. One hour passed and it was still raining. The organisers were waiting to see if there was any change in the weather to decide whether the event shld still carry on. Fast Foward... It stopped raining and the emcee anounced that the event would be starting at 5.30. Everyone sighed but when i checked the time, it was already 5.20. We set up our instruments and proceeded to a verenda behind the symphony stage to tune. Stayed there for three bands to finish playing and then proceeded to the side of the stage. Didn't really hear much of the band before us. It was the time to play and play we did. It was really good at some parts and were ok at others. Applause was really overwhelming. haha, Everyone was cheering for us. After the last piece was the loudest cheer for the afternoon. Just after the band left the stage, they were going to annouce the results for the grooviest in the gardens award. A representative frm each school was called out. Mr Glosz told me to go and so i did. I guess it was the last time i get to represent the band.. So the emcee talked, engaged the audience, asked a few questions to the representatives and finally, the results came. The emcee was right in front of me when he got the results. So he read... The Grooviest In The Gardens Award Goes To.... (at this point of time, he unfolded the piece of paper and i caught a glimse of the word patrick's) ST. PATRICK'S SCHOOL!! Again, another loud cheer from the audience, really, from everyone and not just frm mr glosz's bands. The feeling was really great. The award goes out to mr glosz, mr heng and all the teachers in charge in which we wouldn't have stood a chance without them. Credit shld also be given to all those who put in the effort to make playing at the botanic gardens such a pleasure.. Well Done Guys! Headed back to the band room where mr glosz gave a short speech before dismissing us. Went to Bak Chor Mee after that where we stayed for quite a while. School tomorrow, not forgeting o' level chinese oral.. haha.. Kenneth blogged at 11:37 PM. Friday, July 08, 2005

okok.. since i have some free time to spend on the com, i shall blog abt my swimming trip yesterday.. So here it goes. We were supposed to meet at 2 at Chinese Garden MRT station so i decided to sleep in a litlle later than usual to kill some time beefore leaving my house. Just when i woke up, justin messaged me and asked what i was going to do before meeting him and ivan. After some discussion i decided to make my way to his house. haha, again.. So i bought some orange juice and stopped at his house. Played his Game Cube for a while, some mario game thing lah again. So after half an hour of playing, it was time to go and meet ivan. When we left his house we saw the bus that we were supposed to take to kembangan so we ran for it. Luckily for us, we got it. Reached the bus stop and we had to cross a road to reach the mrt station. The green man wasn't on but we decided to make a run for it. Made it again! The MRT ride was super boring so i played worms with justin on my hp... Played a few games and time passed faster than it usually would. Reached Chinese Garden. Ivan messaged Justin to inform us that he would be late. So me and justin, while waiting for ivan, decided to pelt little stones and the stone sculptures until we were stopped by the mrt staff. HAHA.. Anyway, ivan came and we made our way there. Both of them seemed that they did not trust my memory of how to get there but we reached there within 5 mins. Haha, wanted to buy children or senior citizen tickets but decided not to in the end. So justing got the floats while me and ivan settled the lockers in which we had some minor problems with. Ivan insisted that we went for the lazy river first so there we went. it was a little crowded though. Finally after abt 2 rounds we went for the slides. The highest blue one was closed so we went for the next one. Haha.... Quite fun considering that i last sat it when i was in sec 1. Fast Foward.. WE were starving so we went to the kfc just at the entrance of the swimming complex. Great way to end the swimming trip. Took mrt back home... Hope that we would be able to go back there with more people next time.. Haha.. People reading, feel free to message me if u're keen!! Kenneth blogged at 6:55 PM. Monday, July 04, 2005
I woke up this morning feeling kind of blue But out on the street it starts to pour Take a look at the ordinary I met a good friend for lunch But out of the street with nothing to eat Take a look at the ordinary Take a look at the ordinary I woke up this morning Kenneth blogged at 8:23 AM. 4th of July... Youth Day Holiday!! Anyway, let me tell u abt what happened yesterday... In The morning, i woke up after 3 alarms rang which were my alarm clock, the alarm clock on my fone and a reminder to wake up in my calendar. Haha, ever got the kind of feeling where u noe that u need to wake up but u just dun want to? It seems that it happens to me all the time. So i got out of bed finally and went to shower and made my way to the mrt station heading for Expo. For those who were wondering, who the hell would go Expo on an early sunday morning, i went there or church service, together with over 8000 people. The church was having some prayer meeting there yesterday so i guess the next day's service shld be there too since we've booked the place. Oh yah, my church would be booking one hall at the Expo every sunday frm december onwards to house the growing church population.. Haha, cool eh? Met my cell group den went in and sat together.. The tittle of the sermon was Life Is Unfair, But God Is Good. Rather interesting, i have to agree with the preacher. After that, i rushed over to the mrt station to go for ensemble prac. Met xinling and her brother near the mrt and den proceeded to the mast music studio. Her brother stayed for a while den left. Anyway, back to the ensemble.. There were only 4 people playing and one conductor. The pieces we played were quite ok until Shahrizan decided to work really into detail. For xinling she found it hard to fit in as she was the only girl that day. Nevermind lah, in music, gender does not matter. Not so good for xinling, first time come only all the syncopation pieces come out. Haha.. But i guess if u did this kinda pieces regularly, u would surely improve by leaps and bounds. But unfortunately, she can only dedicate herself to the ensemble after the o' levels. So the practice ended ard 3. Xinling had to go shopping with her brother for her dad's birthday present so ivan and i made our way to parkway for lunch. Ate at the usual ban mian store again den went to walk ard parkway for a while... Headed to the bus stop and ivan decided that he didn't want to go home yet so we called justin and went to his house.. Haha, everytime nothing to do den we'll always think of justin's house as one of our choices. Why u may ask.. Its because he has every game console that's currently in the market. Haha. So we when there, played mario smash brothers den played some mario party game game den we left at ard 7. Walked to the bus stop with ivan and saw the dead cat by the roadside again. Decided not to kick it.. HAHA. Went home. Today, we're supposed to go to jurong to swim as it has more facillities den the usual swimming complexes. Only me, ivan and justin.. Nvm, at least we're going somewhere. It just rained. So i hope that would be all that the clouds have to offer. Haha.. I'll blog abt this later or another day. See ya! Kenneth blogged at 7:59 AM. SPSPMB & Alumni Concert 14th August 2005, Sunday Tickets Are Priced At $12 or $20 Drop Me A Message For Tickets! Kenneth blogged at 7:25 PM. Well, have been studying more den usual lately, trying to take as much time off band as possible so that i can balance both band and studies. Have been thinking quite lately abt the usual stuff, the future. Den saw this phrase on tv... Fate changes everything. Everything changes fate... Hmm, that's rather interesting if u ask me.. Chinese oral falls on 11th july monday. Nothing much to prepare for, nothing much to worry abt. We'll let fate decide eh? haha.. English teacher told us our oral marks that would be used for our prelims. It seems that every year, i get rather good teachers for oral. My other classmates are barely scraping the A1 for oral. Thank God i made it.. 35/40.. Yeah! Here's the lyrics of one of the songs in the corrine may cd i've been hearing lately. Enjoy! I drift, I burn, I fly I laugh, I dream, I cry Save me from this place Before i met you Save me from this place Save me from this place Kenneth blogged at 5:48 PM. |
