Alright. Blog time. So this week passed. pretty well i guess. projects and assignments falling into place just as i wished it would be. despite my heavy schedule and obligations, i seem to have the time to do them. thank God. After a week of break from the SMU band, they're standing down for two weeks again after yesterday's practice. Really looking forward to practices with mr glosz, he never fails to inspire. we rehearsed or rather, praticed danse diabolique yesterday. hmm. Its written rather high for the Bb clarinet range especially for the firsts. which explains the immense clashing of notes at the starting of the practice. you see, i was playing Eb and we were on the same range, middle range for me and higher range for the 1st clarinet part. But it kinda got better after we had individuals for 45 mins on it. I see this concert working out better than the previous one. (if we get enough players that is). Any clarinetists interested in guest playing for smu? Had CYA duty today. wow, a record breaking 5 passengers helped today. an all time low. Now that's really wierd for a saturday evening as there would usually be a lot of people asking around for help at the airport. Even the Customer Service Officers said that i was like their ward. Keeping people away from the information counters everytime i stood nearby. Good for them, but not too good for my record eh.. haha. Got to know the other CYAs namely nicole and huilian better. Looking forward to band practice on monday? haha, i always have that feeling but sometimes dread it during the actual practice. Bringing the Eb in then, see whether it helps to improve the sound of the section since there have been many comments stating that the clarinet section should be louder. The unique sound quality of the Eb should bring out the section sound even more. Projects are quite good in my opinion. Altough some of us have already formed impressions of others in the previous semester, things actually can go quite well with some better organisation. Great work guys! Do i look older than i actually am? haha. been recieving quite a number of such remarks recently. Actually, i'm not even 17 yet. Looking forward to a batch dinner soon. Till then, see ya! Kenneth blogged at 1:58 AM. alright, time to blog! Quite a few projects coming at hand, namely communication skills 2, marketing and principles of management. Luckily for me, they seem to be going the way i would expect+hope it would be. Yep. Missed Changi Youth Ambassadors today due to a family dinner. I wonder what interesting things happened at the airport today.. TP Band is really aiming high eh? They're thinking of introducing Noah's Ark to the repertoire for the annual concert near the end of the year. Quite a couple of events coming along. I think i'll bring the Eb in for next next monday's prac, noah's ark would lack something without the Eb sound. Didn't have SMU practice today.. i was really looking forward to it due to the fantastic repertoire the band would be performing.. Oh yeah, i ate fresh oysters for the first time today! my sis kinda took a video of it. I'll see if i can get it on youtube. They're not as bad as i thought. It's a mental block i got over man... Till next time. Kenneth blogged at 12:56 AM. Thursday, November 02, 2006
small issues and problems in life makes a person grow up a lot.. i had never thought that i would grow psychologically in the polytechnic environment in singapore. as i had said to people ard me, working with people ard you that you dislike puts you on the ultimate test of professionalism. Like it or not, you're going to be stuck with some people you don't favour in life and you have to work with them. Well, that's the way life is isn't it? And please, i'm not a superhero of any sort who always does everything. Take up some bloody initiative and ownership of what you're involved in. Kenneth blogged at 12:51 AM. |
